Wall Street declines hard on Friday; Nasdaq turns negative in the year
The US stocks market fell hard on Friday as selling momentum increased in the last day of the week. The Nasdaq closed the week with losses and turned negative in the year; however the Dow and the S&P posted gains in the week.
The Dow Jones declined 159.84 points or 0.96% to finish the day at 16,412.71; the DJIA closed the week 0.55% positive; The S&P 500 lost 23.68 points or 1.25% to 1,865.09; the index was 0.4% up in the week.
The Nasdaq lost weekly gains and it closed at 2-month lows at 1,865.09 after declining 110.02 points or 2.60% in the Friday's session. The Composite is now 1.17% negative YTD.
