‘Grexit’ remains on the cards – Danske Bank

FXStreet (Edinburgh) - In light of the recent failed Eurogroup meeting, the possibility of Greece leaving the euro area remains tangible, suggested Analyst K.Lomholt at Danske Bank.

Key Quotes

“Euro-area government talks in Brussels regarding the future of Greece’s bailout broke down yesterday”.

“After six hours of talks, the two sides even failed to agree on a way to take negotiations forward, increasing speculations of a EUR ‘Grexit’ as Greece’s current bailout expires at the end of the month”.

“While there are now no new negotiation talks scheduled before another meeting of the finance ministers on Monday, focus will turn to the summit of European Union leaders where Greece and Russia will be the main points on the agenda”.
